Ran the import thing in facebook and jeez, in the short list it mentions the post I made for my 20th birthday.
Clearly a sign of a neglected blog.
I ave not been up to a great deal, work during the week, reasonably active social life on the weekends.
I have a new laptop, obtained during June, RanMac 2: The Quickening as it shall be referred to when I decided to use 2 when describing it.
It has been disappoitningly flaky, and OS X is surprisingly bloatful with all of the bundled stuff, I still need to go through and delete some of the useless crap.
Vista on the same machine has been fine, currently considering seeing if I can convince someone else to also get a copy of MacDrive so I can do the 2 for $60US rather than the 1 for $30.
Been playing games most evenings, currently trying out the EVE online trial, it is interesting so far, and does seem fairly casual friendly, I only typically log in for an hour or two a day. I also have a couple of friends who are playing it, and so may pay to continue beyond the trial.
Beenlistening to many podcasts (of course), and now have an Audible Subscription, so am slowly obtaining and listening to the various Terry Pratchett books. They way they handle the footnotes in the unabridged versions is interesting, they put a slight echo on the asides.
Been reading Forest Mage by Robin Hobb on the bus, it had been a while since I had read the first book of the series (Soldier Son). I'm really enjoying it, not quite sure where the book is going to go at this stage, nor what is going to happen. I picked up books 2 and 3 at Kinokuniya a couple of weeks back.
My nightly rotation of fiction (which has reached 14 days of solid audio fiction now, well beyond the amount of music I have) hit
An Irregular Miscellany by A. F. Harold again, which I highly recommend, it is a collection of short hilarious essays about lectures given by a fictional Common University from the 1920s. I highly recommend people listen to it, it is only a few hours, but it is awesome.
On the same vein, I am enjoying
Decoder Ring Theatre's Summer Showcase, I really liked Deck Gibson and the Stardust Dancers, didn't like gatecrasher so much, but the first one, The Magic of the Movies was quite interesting. These people also should be checked out, their main series, Black Jack Justice and The Red Panda are great audio dramas, styled on the old radio plays of the 1930s. They never fail to entertain me.
I think that is enough for now, it is almost time to go get lunch with Arrch.
